The museum, whose collection has been extensively enriched by the Association of the same name, which manages its research activities, is dedicated to the dazzling international career of musician, composer and opera singer Gaetano Braga (Giulianova, June 9, 1829 - Milan, Nov. 20, 1907).
Known as the author of the famous Leggenda Valacca, one of the best-known salon romances, performed, recorded and published (more than 250 times) all over the world between the late 19th century and the present day, he occupied a prominent place among the best-known cello virtuosos of his time.
In the second half of the 19th century, the musician decided to fully reconstruct, on the same site and in its present form, his birth house, which was originally even smaller.
Today it is used as a museum and contains various works of art (paintings, drawings, sculptures) on the figure and life of the musician Gaetano Braga.
Among the painters and sculptors, of the works in the Museum are P. Montegny, P. Chardin, S. Schaeppi, Antonio Malaspina, Antonio Tantardini, and the Giulioan Antonio Tentarelli; there are also letters, illustrations, documents and scores, the result of research conducted in Italy and abroad by scholars of the Association of the same name based there.
Visiting the museum, it is also possible to listen to recordings and recordings of some of Gaetano Braga's compositions and other music from that period.

Il museo, la cui collezione è stata ampiamente arricchita dall’Associazione omonima che ne gestisce l’attività di ricerca, è dedicato alla folgorante carriera internazionale del musicista, compositore e operista Gaetano Braga (Giulianova, 9 Giugno 1829 – Milano, 20 Novembre 1907).
Conosciuto come autore della celebre Leggenda Valacca, una delle più note romanze da salotto, eseguita, registrata e pubblicata (oltre 250 volte) in tutto il mondo tra la fine dell’Ottocento e i nostri giorni, occupò un posto di primo piano tra i virtuosi di violoncello più noti del suo tempo.
Nella seconda metà dell’800 il musicista decise di ricostruire integralmente, nello stesso sito e nella forma attuale, la propria casa natale, originariamente ancora più piccola.
Oggi è adibita a Museo e vi sono conservate diverse opere d’arte (quadri, disegni, sculture) sulla figura e la vita del musicista Gaetano Braga.
Tra i pittori e gli scultori, delle opere presenti nel Museo, figurano P. Montegny, P. Chardin, S. Schaeppi, Antonio Malaspina, Antonio Tantardini, il giuliese Antonio Tentarelli; vi si trovano anche lettere, illustrazioni, documenti e spartiti, frutto della ricerca condotta in Italia ed all’estero dagli studiosi dell’Associazione omonima che vi ha la sede.
Visitando il museo è possibile, inoltre, ascoltare registrazioni e incisioni di alcune composizioni di Gaetano Braga e di altra musica di quel periodo.
